Chanting
A distinct feature of Greek Orthodox worship is the music of Byzantine chant .  The Cathedral's chanters (ψάλτης) execute this component of our liturgical worship, primarily during the Sunday morning service of Matins (also known as Orthros or morning prayer). Read more »

Original Greek Festival
In 1917, a handful of Greek immigrants formed what is today one of the largest Greek Orthodox communities in the United States. The vision, foresight and dedication of those few faithful immigrants laid the groundwork for what exists today. Read more »

Parish Council
A Parish Council is a body of practicing Orthodox Christians sacramentally in good standing with the Church, elected by the members of a parish for the purpose of working together with the priest in fulfilling the goals and needs of that parish. Read more »

Senior Citizens
Senior Orthodox Christians are welcomed to share in fellowship and friendships every other Tuesday. They as a group share in stimulating conversation with one another. In addition, out of town trips are planned. Read more »

Bookstore
The Cathedral bookstore has a varied inventory of Orthodox Christian books, icons, and CD’s. The bookstore is open during regular office hours and on Sundays following Divine Liturgy during the coffee hour. Read more »

Library
The AGOC library houses books in English and in Greek, including volumes on art, history, fiction, science, biographies, great literary works, and especially on Orthodox theology and spirituality. Read more »

Ladies Philoptochos
Philoptochos means “friend of the poor”. The Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society is the duly accredited women’s philanthropic society of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, Inc. Read more »

Greek School
An “after-school” program whose mission is to teach the Greek language, history and culture to children of pre-elementary, elementary and middle school age. The School is especially (but not exclusively) geared towards American children of Greek ancestry. The School also offers classes for teens and adults. Read more »

Youth & Young Adult Ministries (Y2AM)

Emergency Action
The Annunciation Cathedral Emergency Action Ministry is an emergency response ministry of the Cathedral designed to assist those in need in times of natural disaster such as hurricanes, floods, tornadoes or other natural disasters. Read more »
